One thing stood out about this year’s PestTech seminar programme. All of the sessions had much more to do with safeguarding wildlife and/or preventing the invasion of pests than they did about actual treatments and control.

For the second year running, PestTech, the one-day event for pest professionals with a focus on those working at the sharp end, was held at the Arena MK, Milton Keynes. This year on 6 November. Overall exhibitors and delegates alike seemed in buoyant mood.

Rodenticide resistance in rats has been confirmed in several new areas including Durham, Northumberland, Tyneside, North Yorkshire, Greater Manchester, along the River Severn valley from Somerset to North West Shropshire, Northern East Anglia and Devon.
 
PestWorld 2019 – the same but different... PestWorld 2019 – the same but different...
Once again PestWorld lived up to its name – it covered PESTS and pretty much represented the WORLD. Certainly delegates came from far and wide. It was held in San Diego, in sunny southern California between 15-18 October and, for those of us travelling from a cold and very wet Europe, the wall to wall blue skies and temperatures in the high 70°F (20°C) was a fabulous highlight.
