The Ruddington Grange Golf club, just outside Nottingham, was the venue for the first of this year’s On the Road days organised by NPTA. Held on 20 February, around 60 delegates gathered for what was a very instructive and practical day.

A company director has been sent to prison for 10 months for illegally selling chemicals online. The sentence clearly demonstrates that such activity is being taken seriously by the authorities although the timescales taken do seem rather long. The successful prosecution was brought by the Health & Safety Directorate (HSE) following an original complaint dating back to August 2014.

The third annual report from the Campaign for Responsible Rodenticide Use on the implementation of the UK Rodenticide Stewardship Regime was published this month. The take home message for all professional rodenticide users is to continue to work hard to implement stewardship. There are now just two more years in which to show that the regime has made significant progress by changing user behaviour to reduce residues in wildlife.
