The National Pest Technicians Association said its members response to the organisation’s survey on the HSE’s consultation about the future of anticoagulant rodenticides (AVKs) has been overwhelming.
“It’s evident that this topic has captured people’s attention,” said Kevin Lawrenson, NPTA chief executive.
“AVKs continue to be the most effective and practical solution for safeguarding public health, food safety, and essential infrastructure. Their absence would limit pest controllers’ choices, increase expenses, and pose higher risks to pets and non-target species.”
NPTA is now extending its survey to the broader industry.
Your input is crucial in shaping a cohesive, evidence-based reply that mirrors the real challenges faced in professional pest management.
Once responses are gathered, you will receive the NPTA’s comprehensive submission to the HSE, allowing you to endorse or submit it independently.

The survey closes on Sunday, September 13, giving NPTA time to consolidate the data and finalise its submission ahead of the September 30 deadline.
