The British Pest Control Association (BPCA) has won a bronze award for Best Membership Engagement at the Association Excellence Awards 2025, celebrating the Association’s success in transforming how it involves members and volunteers in decision-making.
The national awards recognise the achievements of professional associations and trade bodies that deliver outstanding value to their members.
Rosina Robson, BPCA chief executive, said: “We’re absolutely delighted to have won this recognition, especially in a category with such a strong shortlist of entries.
“BPCA is owned by its members, so we make sure their voices are at the centre of everything we do.
“A huge thank you to our amazing volunteers, who give up their time and share their expertise with us – this award belongs to you too.”
Transforming volunteer engagement
In 2024, BPCA overhauled its approach to member engagement, moving from a traditional, staff-led model to one built on collaboration.
Each volunteer committee was given a strategic project to lead for the year, supported by workshops, open-agenda discussions and new reporting tools.
The headline initiative was BPCA’s first Volunteer Days: a two-day in-person event of strategic planning, workshops and networking.
Ms Robson said: “The results speak for themselves: committees now pitch projects directly to the Executive Board, collaboration between groups has increased, and volunteer satisfaction has risen.”
