BASF recently welcomed the winners of its 2026 Easter Bonanza competition to its Widnes factory, offering lucky pest controllers an exclusive behind-the-scenes look at the production of its innovative rodenticide, Selontra.
Launched in April, in partnership with Killgerm Chemicals, the Easter Bonanza competition rewarded pest control professionals across the UK with a range of prizes, including the top prize of five pairs of tickets to the Widnes factory experience.
The 10 attendees – five competition winners and their chosen guests – were given a rare opportunity to explore BASF’s manufacturing facility, meet the experts behind its pest control innovations, and gain first-hand insight into the science and processes involved in producing Selontra.
The day concluded with an evening of food, drinks and networking with the BASF team.
Visitors were able to see how BASF continues to invest in research, development and manufacturing excellence to support pest management professionals around the world.
Laurence Barnard, country business manager at BASF, said: “We had great fun hosting our Easter Bonanza competition this April, which included offering this unique opportunity to a handful of pest professionals.
“It’s not often we’re able to open our factory doors to customers, so it was fantastic to spend time with the winners, showcase the work that goes into products like Selontra, and hear directly from those using them in the field. The enthusiasm and engagement from everyone who attended made the day a real success.”
