Less than a year after setting up Reaper Bird Control, brothers Carl and Craig Hoult are joining BPCA for Meet the Member webinar to talk about building a specialist bird management business from scratch.
In this session, delegates will hear how the Hoult brothers made the jump from established technical roles into running their own family business, why they chose to specialise in bird management, and what it takes to grow a company built on honesty, care, communication and safety.
Carl and Craig will also share their experiences of supporting the wider sector through BPCA Committees, including the Professional Standards Committee, Technical Committee and BirdWise special interest group.
In this member-only session, the brothers will discuss:
- Why Carl and Craig decided to launch Reaper Bird Control;
- The challenges of starting a specialist bird management company;
- What good bird management looks like in practice;
- Building a business around strong values and professional standards;
- The importance of training, CPD and industry involvement; and
- Lessons learned from technical roles, field work and running a family business.
The session is taking place via Zoom on Wednesday, August 5, between 12.30pm and 2pm.
