The British Pest Control Association (BPCA) has reported a strong start for its new Pest Careers campaign, aimed at raising awareness of pest management as a viable and rewarding career choice.
In its first week, the campaign was watched by over 73,000 people across social media and digital channels, with early figures showing encouraging levels of engagement.
BPCA reports above-average click-through rates compared to typical recruitment content, alongside high completion rates on short-form video assets promoting life as a pest professional.
The campaign focuses on the real-world impact of pest management, highlighting its role in protecting public health, homes and businesses, while challenging outdated perceptions of the sector as a last-resort job. Messaging centres on the variety of the work, practical problem-solving and the long-term career opportunities available.
Early data suggests the message is landing. BPCA says a significant proportion of website traffic to its careers pages is coming from people under 35, with many users spending several minutes exploring training routes and entry-level qualifications. Interest in accredited training, including the RSPH/BPCA Level 2 Award in Pest Management, has also increased since the campaign launched.
The association plans to build on this initial momentum over the coming months, with further content showcasing real pest professionals, clearer signposting to training pathways and more resources for employers looking to recruit.
