Following the success of the Have a Coffee on Us initiative at PestTech 2025, NPTA has confirmed that a total of £1,400 has been donated to support mental health awareness.
The coffee area at PestTech was designed as more than a refreshment point. It was created as a space to encourage conversation, a place where attendees could pause, connect and, importantly, feel comfortable talking openly, including about mental health within the pest control industry.
Thanks to the generosity of our sponsors, the initiative generated a surplus of £1,400 after all costs were covered. In consultation with those sponsors, it was unanimously agreed that the funds would be distributed equally between two organisations that were present at the event and actively promoting mental health support:
- £700 has been donated to PestMinds, supporting their continued work to raise awareness and reduce stigma surrounding mental health specifically within the pest control industry; and
- £700 has been donated to Andy’s Man Club, who hosted a stand on the exhibition floor at PestTech, engaging directly with attendees and reinforcing the importance of providing safe, judgement-free spaces for men to talk.
Both organisations played an important role on the day, helping to ensure that mental health was visible, accessible and part of the wider industry conversation.
Kevin Lawrenson, NPTA chief executive, said: “PestTech continues to grow as an exhibition, but what matters most is the culture we build around it, and the people who make our industry what it is.
“We must continue to raise awareness of mental health and ensure that conversations around wellbeing become normal, open and ongoing within pest control.
“I am extremely grateful to our sponsors for their generosity and their unanimous support in donating the surplus funds. This is a strong example of our industry standing together to make a meaningful difference.”
