The full set of videos from BPCA Digital Forum 38 is now available for everyone to watch back on BPCA’s YouTube channel.
The forum took place on June 10, 2026, and brought together expert speakers covering bed bugs, bats, rodent biology and professional fly control.
The recordings are aimed at pest management professionals who want practical updates, technical refreshers and useful insight from across the sector.
The videos now available are:
Can you sleep tight? Bed bug behaviour, monitoring and treatment
Alexia Naylor from the Bed Bug Foundation explores what current research tells us about bed bug behaviour, monitoring and treatment.
The session looks at how bed bugs feed, move, hide and respond to host cues such as carbon dioxide and heat. It also covers false negatives in monitoring, harbourages, heat and steam treatments, pyrethroid resistance, silicon dioxide, diatomaceous earth and the mental health impact of infestations.
Bats in buildings: what pest professionals need to know
Emma Turnbull, biodiversity training officer at the Bat Conservation Trust, gives an introduction to British bats and explains what pest professionals need to consider when working in buildings where bats may be present.
The session covers bat behaviour, roosts, signs of bats in buildings, legal protection, the risks linked to pest control work and when to seek advice from an ecologist or the Bat Conservation Trust.
Back to basics: Rodent biology and behaviour
Sophie Thorogood from Pelsis gives a practical refresher on rodent biology, behaviour, proofing and rodenticide selection.
The session covers how rats and mice exploit buildings, common routes into structures, gnawing behaviour, proofing failures, neophobia, resistance, bait choice and why inspection should never stop at ground level.
Sponsored video: Revolutionising fly control: the innovation behind Seclira Fly Bait
In this sponsored session, Jeferson de Andrade from BASF looks at the challenges of professional fly control and introduces Seclira Fly Bait, a ready-to-use aerosol bait innovation expected for the UK market.
The session explores fly behaviour, breeding sites, larval control, sanitation, IPM, resistance management, field trial results and how baiting can support wider control strategies.
