Pest-Protect and PPC Live kick-off the 2016 events

After the Christmas break, don’t miss the chance of catching up on what’s new at these two events. Pest-Protect is the premier international event in Germany and PPC Live returns for its second running, this time in Peterborough.

Pest-Protect – the premier event in Germany

Billed as the largest professional pest control event on continental Europe, Pest-Protect promises to live up to this claim. The dates to book are 2 and 3 March 2016 and the venue is Hall C2 of the very modern and gleaming ICS International Congress Center, Germany.

Organised by the German trade association, Deutscher Schá¤dlingsbeká¤mpfer-Verband (DSV), Pest-Protect takes over from the previous very successful event, Eurocido, which was traditionally held every two years in Dortmund.

Around 100 exhibitors
As to be expected there is a full complement of around 100 exhibitors, coming from all over Europe along with an extensive two-day seminar programme.

Bed bugs take centre stage with several technical presentations, including a live demonstration on the use of sniffer dogs by Daniela Salg, proprietor of Dogs Spirit and also a panel discussion which will ask if Germany is moving the same way as the USA.

Andreas Beckmann, DSV chief executive explains: “There will be digital guides, lifts from the underground car park leading directly to the exhibition hall and gallery. “The presentation rooms will be quiet and are situated in the gallery flooded with light, located directly above the exhibition floor. In addition, offices and meeting rooms, which can be booked separately for company’s own meetings are also available.”

Tickets for the event can be bought in advance on-line.

Easy to reach
Travelling to the event is easy, especially if arriving by air as the exhibition halls are only a matter of meters away from the airport.

Round the day off at the PCO-Night
On the evening of 2 March, come along and enjoy yourself in the relaxed atmosphere of the PCO-Night.

Nearer to home, that is if you are UK-based, is PPC Live on 16 March. This will be the second time this one-day event, organised in alternate years to PestEx, is to be held – the first successful launch event being in Salford in 2014 – and this time its at the Peterborough Arena, at the East of England Showground near Peterborough, Cambridgeshire.

Simon Forrester, chief executive of the organisers, BPCA, said: “Our first-ever PPC Live event in 2014 went down very well and feedback was so positive that we wanted to do it again. This year, we are way up on our figures already and it already looks like it will be a resounding success.”

The event, predominantly designed for UK pest control technicians, company owners, managers and supervisors, is described as a powerful medium for building and growing business.

Alongside a Question Time style session about the new Stewardship UK Rodenticides regime, it will feature more than 50 exhibitors showcasing the latest products and techniques along with a variety of seminars and technical sessions. There’ll also be a series of live demonstrations.

Final details of both the list of exhibitors and the seminar programme are not yet available.

However, you can register for tickets now. The venue is easy to find and has ample car parking space.

Benelux Pest 2016

Slightly later in the year, you can go to another one-day event – Benelux Pest 2016 – held at the NH Conference Centre Koningshof, in Eindhoven, The Netherlands. Traditionally held in the autumn, the organisers (Pest Control News) has brought forward the date to earlier in the year.

Fumigants and Pheromones Conference

Pest control is increasingly an international business and for those wishing to travel a little further afield the 12th Fumigants & Pheromones Conference and Workshop  to be held at the Adelaide Convention Centre, North Terrace, Adelaide, South Australia between 6-9 March will reward your effort.

Held alternate years and organised by Insects Limited, it is a ‘must attend’ event if in anyway involved with fumigation and food protection.

PestWorld East 2016

Hosted by the National Pest Management Association (NPMA) along with the Indian Pest Control Association (IPCA) is PestWorld East. This one-of-a-kind conference is designed to address pest management challenges specific to the Middle East, Africa, South Asia, and India. It is to be held between 27-29 August 2016 at the Grand Hyatt Hotel, Goa, India.
