Make your voice count in national survey

BASF and Pest are pleased to announce that the fifth National Pest Management Survey, tracking the ups and downs of the UK professional pest management sector, is underway.

Please take part in the National UK Pest Management Survey 2015

The survey, run annually by BASF Pest Control Solutions and Pest magazine, is designed to record the fortunes of the UK professional pest management sector and to assess its prospects over the short and medium term. The results are made freely available to all. They allow individuals to benchmark their activities and opinions and to gain a better understanding of the industry as a whole. They also help those who lobby on behalf of the pest management sector.

We need your help
If you work at the sharp-end of pest control:

In a local authority unit;
As a technician, surveyor or field biologist in a private pest control company;
As a self-employed pest controller.
We want to hear from you.
Managers and owners in the professional pest management sector.
We need your contribution too.

Look out for your invitation in your email
Pestassociate editor Helen Riby explains: “Links to the questionnaire were sent out today, Monday 23 February, by email. So, if you’re at the sharp-end of UK pest control and have already supplied us with your email address, you should have received an invitation to take part. Please follow the link in the email to the online survey. It should only take 15 to 20 minutes of your time.

“If the email hasn’t arrived, then please check your junk mail just in case it’s been wrongly identified as spam,” she adds.

“Completing the online survey is really easy. It comprises a series of tick box questions about your experiences at work. For example we ask about which pests occupied most of your work time and what the split is between your commercial and domestic work. We’re interested in which pests are going to be important in the future too.

“We also ask how confident you feel about your future prospects in the industry and there are a couple of questions about the barriers to pest control and how important these are to you. This year we’ve also added a few special questions about the situation with the second-generation anticoagulant rodenticides (SGARs).

“But, don’t worry, if there are questions you can’t or don’t want to answer, you can just skip ahead to the next one,” says Helen “And, rest assured, all the information provided is treated as confidential and no comments will ever be attributed to individuals.

The survey closes at midnight on 20 March 2015 so you have until then to take part.

However, even if you’re not on our email list, you can still take part via this survey link. But please note, the survey is about the UK market and it has been designed for the people at the coal-face of pest control, along with their managers and/or business owners. So please only click on the link if you fit this description!

The fact is that the more people who take part in the survey, the more complete will be the picture it provides of our industry and the more useful the data will be to everyone involved.
