Birchmeier Sprühtechnik AG will celebrate a very special anniversary in 2026: For 150 years, this traditional company from Stetten in the canton of Aargau has stood for Swiss quality, technical precision, and pioneering innovations.

From ingenious invention to global brand
The company’s origins date back to 1876, when it was founded in Künten as a metal goods factory under the name Trost & Cie. A milestone in the company’s history was the development of the world’s first backpack sprayer in 1890 – an invention by Johann Baptist Birchmeier, originally used to combat powdery and downy mildew in European vineyards.

Today, these robust, functional, and low-maintenance sprayers are indispensable in horticulture, agriculture, construction, and cleaning, and are used in over 80 countries.

Technological progress with responsibility
Birchmeier has successfully combined generations of technical expertise with a keen understanding of market needs. The company’s products – from compact handheld sprayers to high-end, battery-powered backpack sprayers – impress with their intelligent design, exceptional durability, and meticulous attention to detail.

Through continuous investment in research and development, Birchmeier remains a technological leader in spraying technology. A prime example of the company’s innovative strength is the AS 1200 spray blower, which represents a true technological leap.

Swiss quality that inspires
All devices are developed and produced at the headquarters in Stetten. The “Made in Switzerland” label stands not only for its origin, but also for the highest manufacturing standards. Birchmeier products are not disposable: spare parts are available for at least 10 years after the end of production, which underscores the company’s sustainable approach.

A year of celebrations for customers, partners and employees
To mark its 150th anniversary, Birchmeier is planning numerous events to celebrate with customers, business partners and employees and to say thank you for their trust and loyalty over many decades.
