The British Pest Control Association has made a series of CPD sessions from its recent Digital Forum freely available to the pest management industry via the BPCA website and YouTube channel.
The four videos cover emerging pest threats, technician safety, rodent management in complex sites and the growing role of digital and AI-driven monitoring. BPCA says the aim is to widen access to technical knowledge and practical guidance, particularly for technicians unable to attend events in person.
One session, Scent science: Emerging global pest threats and the future of pest detection, features Dr Sophie Wulff of Arctech Innovation. The talk explores how climate change, global travel and resistance are driving more volatile pest activity, and why improved detection, including scent science and remote monitoring, is becoming increasingly important.
Road safety is the focus of Winter driving safety: practical advice for pest professionals on the road, delivered by Al Richardson from Logistics UK. The session provides practical guidance on driving in poor weather, vehicle preparation and understanding driver responsibilities during severe conditions.
In Mitigating rodent risk in complex sites, Michael Dunbar of Killgerm shares lessons from field biology work in large warehouses, food factories and distribution centres. The video looks at rodent behaviour in high-risk environments and highlights the importance of inspections, proofing, monitoring data and site knowledge.
The final video, Insectram Awakens: AI integration and digital monitoring, is a sponsored session led by Craig Peniket from Insectram. It examines how smart traps, connected monitoring devices and AI-powered reporting tools are shaping modern pest management and supporting compliance.
All four videos are available to watch free of charge via the BPCA website and YouTube channel. BPCA members can also log their BPCA Registered CPD points after viewing.
