The 11th International Conference on Urban Pests (ICUP) will take place from June 29 to July 2, 2025 in Lund, southern Sweden.

ICUP is the leading event internationally for sharing experiences in urban pest science, and for meeting with the urban pest community. ICUP conferences typically attract 250-300 participants from across the world, including academic researchers, NGOs, pest management professionals and government authorities.?

The ICUP 2025 Organising Committee is now calling for abstracts for posters and oral presentations at the conference. This abstract is not for publication, but simply for initial consideration by the ICUP committee. Jette Knudsen, chair of ICUP 2025 Organising Committee, said: “We ask that you look carefully at the guidance on our website, and submit your abstract through our Abstract Portal, before September 15th, 2024.

“We are seeking abstracts of work that makes a significant contribution to urban pest science.”

Ms Knudsen said that presenters will be inform by November 15, of the acceptance of their abstract, or a suggestion to move an oral presentation to a poster (or the reverse), or rejection of the proposed abstract.

“For accepted talks, we require the final manuscript by the end of January 2025,” she said.

Conference theme
Urban areas are an environment in which biodiversity is now perceived both as a threat and an opportunity. ICUP 2025 will, therefore, have a general theme of Smart and Sustainable Management of Urban Animal.
