Orkin UK acquires Beaver Pest Control

US-based Rollins Inc, best known for its subsidiary pest control brand, Orkin, has finalised the acquisition of London-based Beaver Pest Control, for an undisclosed sum.

Beaver Pest Control was established by Graham Lodge in 1990, who was joined by his brother David, two years later, to help grow the business. By 2007, now with seven staff, the company passed the £1million revenue mark.

Since then, Beaver has grown to become one of the UK’s largest regional pest control companies employing nearly 100 people in its pest, wildlife management and drainage proofing divisions. The company, headquartered in south London, covers all parts of London and the South-East.

This deal is the third acquisition by Orkin in the UK this year and expands its number of employees to over 450. It also significantly increases its presence in London and the surrounding areas.

General manager David Lodge said: “My brother Graham recently chose to retire so it gave us an excellent opportunity to look to the future and consider how best to continue to develop and grow. We knew that we needed additional skills and support from a larger, already established, pest control company.

“We worked with the Potomac Company based in the US and it soon became clear that Orkin UK would be the best fit for us. We are incredibly excited to now be part of the Orkin Group as this will allow us to maintain our brand, retain our great team and not disrupt the Beaver ethos.

“I am pleased to say that the whole team are fully on board and we are looking forward to a bright and secure future. I also have to say that Orkin UK has been exceptional with its onboarding process, which has been both empathetic and without drama.”

Orkin UK managing director, Kristian Dales said he was delighted to welcome Beaver Pest Control into Orkin UK.

“Beaver shares the same high standards and core values which are much appreciated by all our customers,” Mr Dales said.

“Beavers’ people, skills and expertise, along with the strength we already have within the existing business presents a fantastic opportunity to provide enhanced service offerings to our clients and to increase our market penetration.”

“The purchase of Beaver Pest Control is part of our strategy to establish Orkin UK as the UK’s leading pest control provider through a series of strategic acquisitions and service innovations.”

Mr Dales said that in the last eight years, Orkin UK has doubled in size and then doubled again.

“This deal increases our turnover to £43 million, secures our position as the country’s second largest service provider and puts us well on track to achieve our ambitious business plan by 2027,” Mr Dales added.
