PestFix warns customers of global supply disruptions from the Red Sea Crisis

PestFix has highlighted how the risk of attack in the Red Sea has meant that the majority of container ships have been unable to access the Suez Canal and are being diverted around the Cape of Hope and up the west side of Africa.

This change of route, the company said, adds approximately 10-14 days to the voyage.

Francis Medley, PestFix’s supply chain & procurement manager, said: “We know that some of our containers have been rerouted to avoid the dangers of the ongoing conflict in the Middle East. We plan PestFix manufacture with degrees of tolerance, so while we don’t think this will have an impact on our stock levels, we do advise our customers to plan their pest proofing jobs early.

“Particularly with large bird netting projects; you’ll already be having discussions about installing before the nesting season begins. Think about getting installations completed earlier or the materials ordered well in advance of the project start date.”
