David Cain from Bed Bugs Limited took to the airwaves during the More 5 Live Breakfast Show today – Tuesday 15 September.

The general public’s fascination with pests continues. Well-known bedbug expert, David Cain, was interviewed for nearly eight minutes on this popular BBC Radio 5 breakfast show.

During the interview David detailed the ever increasing rise of bedbug infestations. He referred to a recent survey undertaken by his company of councils which shows that bedbug infestations have risen three-fold in London and the East Midlands over the last decade.

In the interview David calmly explained how bedbug infestations arise, how a member of the general public can spot an infestation should they be worried they might have one and then what they can do if their suspicions are confirmed.

Several of the long-held myths surrounding bedbugs were discussed. In particular presenter Shelagh Fogarty was confused, as many are, between bedbugs and house dust mites.

The programme can be heard by clicking here (only until 22 September) – the item is one hour and 35 minutes into the show.
