The British Pest Control Association has introduced BPCA Insider, a new WhatsApp noticeboard, aimed at giving members and volunteers concise, direct updates from the association.
Designed as a one-way announcement channel, BPCA Insider is exclusively available to BPCA member company main contacts, authorised contacts with permission, and approved volunteers and committee members.
The initiative is intended to complement existing communications, recognising that emails can pile up and social media moves quickly. Updates will be shared roughly every fortnight and will focus on short, practical information to keep members informed about what the association is doing on their behalf.
BPCA said subscribers can expect brief update posts, behind-the-scenes photos from the BPCA team, occasional lightning polls to gather member feedback, and important association and industry news ahead of wider release.
Scott Johnstone, BPCA communications manager, stressed that BPCA Insider will not be used to promote training courses or events, nor will it function as a group chat. There will be no open discussion threads or daily marketing messages, and each post will be written by a member of the BPCA team rather than automated.
Mr Johnstone said the idea came from BPCA’s Outreach and Communications Committee as part of efforts to improve the flow of information between members and the association.
“This new noticeboard is a straightforward step towards making it easier for members to stay informed – without spamming your inbox,” he said.
Access to BPCA Insider requires member log-in, and terms and conditions apply, alongside BPCA’s and WhatsApp’s privacy policies.
