At a gala dinner held on 16 October at the NEC in Birmingham, PestFreeHome beat off 12 other entrants to win the innovation award for their ground-breaking web business.
These Landlord & Buy-to-Let Awards, organised by Accession Exhibitions & Publishing Ltd and sponsored by Residential Investments, are a new innovation this year. They are designed to recognise and reward excellence and contribute to raising standards in the private rented sector. These features were obviously recognised in the work undertaken by PestFreeHome. The judges were especially impressed by the way PestFreeHome helped consumers make the choice between doing it themselves and contracting a professional through the use of the BPCA postcode search system.

PestFreeHome in association with Bed Bugs UK Ltd attended the London Landlord’s event on 9-10 September at the Olympia Conference Centre which was attended by over 2,400 visitors, ranging from the mega property management companies to individual investors. For the first time ever, David Cain and Rob Fryatt gave presentations as part of the seminar programme, had an exhibition stand and used the event as the opportunity to launch their new Bed Bug Beware booklet. Interest in bedbug management at the event was considerable – as must have been recognised by the awards judging panel. Summing up his feelings after winning this somewhat unexpected accolade, Rob Fryatt from PestFreeHome said: “We were thrilled to win this award. It certainly goes to show the increasing concern and demand for information and professional services there is by landlords in the battle against this pest.” |

Rob has thrown down the gauntlet to the industry by stating: “An event like the Landlord’s Show is an excellent opportunity for the industry to promote itself to an open and willing market. It is to be hoped that BPCA and NPTA will recognise this opportunity and attend the show next year.
