At Pest magazine we were lucky enough to be at the recent International Conference on Urban Pests (ICUP) held At Aston University, Birmingham from start to finish 9 to 12 July 2017. In addition to the web stories posted, here we include a number of further photographs which capture the spirit of these four days.
In addition to our over-view report of ICUP 2017, the bed bug workshop and the call in the UK for new standards for rat, mice and mole traps which was the subject of one of the presentations, look out for further coverage in Pest 52: August & September 2017.
If you would like to be added to the ICUP email circulation list to recieve details, when available, of ICUP 2020 – to be held in Spain – just request this here.

Usually held at a university venue, this time at Aston
With plenty of comfortable lecture room facilities
With Dr Matt Bertone, USA, the first plenary speaker

Discussions at coffee time proved invaluable
Links & exchanges established between delegates
Lasting relationships formed
And even a joke or a funny story shared
Posters enabled more delgates to present research
And to discuss results one-to-one
Plus opportunities to ask questions from the audience
But it’s not all work and no play…
Delegates went by double decker bus to the banquet
Held at Birmingham Botanical Gardens
With the odd glass or two of refreshment enjoyed!
Plus lively exchanges with old and new friends
And for the young at heart, a live band to dance to
But all too soon Matt Davies rang time to end ICUP 2017
