The British Pest Control Association (BPCA) is inviting members to join an online debate exploring the growing crossover between pest management and drainage work.
Titled Money down the drain – drainage surveys and inspections, the interactive session will take place online via Zoom at 12.30pm on Wednesday, November 12, and is free for BPCA members.
When infestations lead to blocked or damaged drains, pest professionals often find themselves crossing paths with drainage engineers – and sometimes stepping into their world. This debate will ask whether that overlap is an opportunity or a challenge for the industry.
Niall Gallagher, BPCA technical manager, will host the discussion, joined by panellists Mick Grant (MG Drainage), Darron Pearce (Rattraxs Pest Control) and Adam Ratcliffe (All Pest Services).
The panel will tackle practical and professional questions, including:
- Should pest controllers retrain as drainage engineers?
- How safe is it to work in and around drains?
- What does it cost to get started with drain surveying?
- What signs should pest professionals look for when drain defects could be to blame?
Attendees will have the chance to ask their own questions live, share experiences, and contribute to the discussion via Zoom’s Q&A feature.
