NPTA has joined The Society of Food Hygiene & Technology (SOFHT), a respected organisation with more than 40 years of expertise in food hygiene, safety, and industry standards.
NPTA said that becoming part of SOFHT is another important step in raising the profile of the association and strengthening its voice across the broader food and public health sector.
Kevin Lawrenson, NPTA chief executive, said this partnership gives NPTA access to specialist knowledge, influential networks, and a range of events and resources that will directly support its members and the industry as a whole.
Mr Lawrenson said: “Joining SOFHT is another step forward in raising the profile of the NPTA and ensuring our members are represented at the highest levels.
“This strengthens our ability to champion professionalism, share best practice, and play an active role in shaping standards across the food and pest management landscape.”
The NPTA technical team is also keen to get involved in SOFHT’s events, training, and working groups. This hands-on engagement will help raise awareness of the NPTA’s work, showcase the expertise within its membership, and create new opportunities for collaboration across industries.
Mark Wenman, one of the NPTA technical managers, added: “I’m looking forward to growing connections with food industry decision makers that will benefit NPTA members.
“It’s important to continue raising the profile of pest management as critical to food safety and the fantastic part that our members and industry plays in this.”
