Pest Minds, the growing mental health advocacy project dedicated to supporting individuals working in pest management and related industries, has launched Pest Minds Connections, a safe, anonymous, and community-led peer support service.
Founder Anna Mollins said the initiative provides space where individuals across the pest control sector can connect with volunteers for confidential, non-judgmental conversation and emotional support.
The service is designed to bridge the gap between colleagues who understand the realities of the job and those who simply need someone to listen.
“People in the pest management sector often work alone, face challenging environments, and operate under significant pressure,” said Ms Mollins
“Too many feel they have no one to talk to. Pest Minds Connections gives them a safe place to open up, without the fear of judgement, stigma, or professional consequences.”
Pest Minds is calling for volunteers to become Pest Minds Connectors and offer their support.
Ms Mollins added: “To be able to support those who want a peer to talk to, we first need a pool of people ready to offer their help. We are also asking industry partners and organisations to share or promote the service, utilising their networks of pest professionals to get the word out.”
