BPCA unveils trainee pest technician job template

BPCA has created a new job template for member companies to use when hiring trainee pest controllers.

Recruitment is a hot topic in the industry right now, and many BPCA member companies have said they’re finding it difficult to attract new trainee staff.

As part of the Equality, Diversity and Inclusion (EDI) Committee’s project on improving recruitment issues in the sector, the BPCA team was asked to create a template for companies looking to hire a trainee pest technician.

The template, which is available in the Member Library, is totally adaptable for your business needs and members are encouraged to put their personal touch on it.

As well as your own company name and details, you can add any extra duties or skills that you’ll require of your new trainee. You can also delete anything that isn’t relevant to the job you’re posting.

Dee Ward-Thompson, BPCA head of membership and technical, said: “We know that recruitment is a bit of a sticking point for pest control companies at the moment, and with a large percentage of the industry expected to retire in the next few years it’s important that we find ways to tackle the issue.

“A job advert is the first impression that prospective new candidates will get of your business. It needs to look well-written and appealing, so we’ve created this template to help members make that first impression stick!”
