News from Bell Laboratories

New on the Bell Laboratories stand at Eurocido was Protecta Evo Express – the next generation of tamper resistant secured bait stations. First unveiled at PestWorld 2011, this was the debut for Evo Express in Europe.

Manufactured by Bell Laboratories, Evo Express comes with many time-saving features, in particular the option of a fitted concrete block in the base of the station that weighs it down. This means Evo Express comes ready for easy servicing and secured placement. Other time saving features include its single-locking mechanism.

Practical and easy to use
Peter Glass, owner of Hygienedienstleistungen based in Alfeld, Germany visited the Bell stand at Eurocido and explained he had already been using Evo Express after he secured a sample from Thomas Deuscher, Bell’s regional manager for Northern Europe.

“I found the Evo Express simple and easy to use. Coming with the 5kg block, means the bait station is securely anchored and wouldn’t move away. I actually used it attached with a cable to the base of a fence close to a river. Despite the river flooding, the station stayed where I had placed it,” he explained.

Another feature Peter said he particular liked is the fact the station takes either a trap or bait, or both “In food factories I have very successfully used just T-Rex and Mini-Rex traps, or if outdoors, Notrac and Solo Blox. I also like the fact the bait is positioned higher off the floor within the box, meaning there is less risk of it getting wet.”

Robustly manufactured
Made of 100% recycled plastic, Protecta Evo Express is sturdy and built to withstand the rigours of baiting both outdoors and in. Its heavy-duty removable tray is pre-formed to hold a variety of baiting options: two T-Rex rat traps, two Mini-Rex mouse traps or a combination of traps and bait. The station is equipped with four baiting rods that hold eight 28g blox. The tray also lifts out for easy servicing and, once inserted, the bait rods won’t fall out when cleaning the tray.

The bait station’s ramped entry, while enticing to rodents, is designed to keep children and non-target wildlife out. A bar code installed inside the lid is compatible with pest management software to track servicing. A service card can also be placed in the service card slot inside the station or affixed on the outside.

Award winner
Throughout the two days of the show, the Bell stand played host to numerous pest controllers, not only from Germany, but from all across Europe. To round-off this highly successful exhibition, Bell was delighted to be awarded the prize for best new product innovation. Voted for by the exhibition visitors – this went to Protecta Evo Express!

Now available in Germany, Protecta Evo Express is currently being introduced throughout Europe.
