PestTech 2025 will take place at the Marshall Arena in Milton Keynes on Wednesday, November 5. Simon King speaks to Kevin Lawrenson, NPTA chief executive, to find out more about this year’s show
This year’s PestTech, the 32nd iteration of the event, will be the biggest in its history, with 77 exhibitors booked in as Pest went to press.
This year, NPTA has several new elements, which have been developed so that delegates consider staying longer than they normally do.
Kevin Lawrenson, NPTA chief executive, said: “Pest Tech has always been an event where lots of people come to and it’s well-renowned within the industry, but it tends to be all centred around the main exhibition hall.
“What we’ve tried to do this year is make it a bit more of a place where people can come and stay a bit longer than they normally have.”
Anna Mollins, who recently won the Unsung Hero of the Year Award at the National Pest Awards is the brainchild of the Pest Minds initiative.
Kevin said: “That’s about raising awareness of mental health within the industry.
“Sometimes we just need to stop, take a break, and that’s where we came up with the idea for delegates to ‘have a coffee on us’ and we’ve introduced the PestTech cafe area, where people can go and have coffee on us, and are also be able to buy hot and cold food and drinks, in an area just off the exhibition hall.”
This year’s PestTech features an additional seminar room.
“Some of the feedback that we got last year was that if people wanted to hear the CRRU seminar they had to be at PestTech earlier,” Kevin said.
“This year, the seminars are taking over two floors; we’ve done away with the rifle range, and added in more seminars.
“We’ve introduced the Knowledge Trail as well. A number of exhibitors are taking part in the Knowledge Trail, an initiative from BASIS PROMPT.
This is an an opportunity for people to go around certain stands, learn something, answer some questions, and earn additional CPD points – one CPD point per stand, up to a maximum of four CPD points.”
Another PestTech highlight will be In the Mix from Killgerm, where delegates can get together and make a bonfire-themed cocktail.
“We’ve also got the Escape Room, sponsored by Pelsis, on one of the balcony levels which is an opportunity for people to get together, and have a bit of fun trying to escape,” Kevin said.
“If you’re in the industry and you’ve got an interest in pest control, come along and you might learn something.”
The Pest team looks forward to seeing you at PestTech 2025.
