Call for new standards for rat, mice and mole traps
Oxford University’s Dr Sandra Baker has called for all moles traps and all break-back traps for rats and mice to be approved before they can be sold in the UK. Highlighting the double standards currently in place whereby all other spring traps must be welfare approved, she argued that research completed by her team makes a strong case for all traps to be tested and welfare approved before being marketed.

Insect monitor madness - but you can help stop this
The European Commission is threatening the future of insect monitoring traps that contain an attractant. It’s not the traps themselves that have caught the Commission’s attention but the pheromones used in them to attract the insects to the traps and thereby turn them into such effective monitoring tools. But if we act IMMEDIATELY, there is still a chance that we can save these monitors.

Simply heat – get hot with Thermo-bug
Running alongside the exhibition at Disinfestando were a series of seminars. In addition to those organised by ANID were four workshops arranged by Bleu Line for their customers. One of these covered the use of heat for the control of insects – in particular bed bugs.
