Charles Phillips, currently the technical manager at Suterra is to take on the role as divisional director, whilst David Haskins is promoted to sales director.

The appointment of Charles Phillips follows the announcement made in early August – see details – that the current incumbent, Chris Parmiter, was stepping-down to set up his own business offering training and auditing.

Announcing these two new appointments, Steve Bailey, Barrettine group managing director, said: “We are delighted to announce that Charles Phillips will be joining the Barrettine Group in the New Year (end of January) as divisional director of Barrettine Environmental Health (BEH).

“Charles has a wealth of experience in new product development as well as understanding a number of the regulatory hurdles associated with them. It is vital for both our business and our customers that our product and service portfolio is sustainable for the short, medium and long term. The industry is having to face-up to a number of legislative and regulatory challenges, probably more so now than ever. We very much see this as an important and exciting appointment.”

Steve continues saying “As part of restructuring the division, we are also delighted to announce that as of 1 January 2013, David Haskins is promoted to sales director for public health. David has been with us for five years during which time he has done a fantastic job in many areas across our business. David will work very closely with Charles, and the rest of the team, as we continue to drive the business forward.”

Commenting on his new position, Charles said: “”I am delighted to accept the position of divisional director at Barrettine Environmental Health. I will be joining a very progressive company in a sector that has tremendous growth potential and I am looking forward to working with Steven and the Barrettine team to implement and achieve these strategic growth objectives.”

Charles Phillips joined Suterra (then AgriSense) in April 2010 having previously worked within the biotechnology sector for Oxitec, PlantBio and LIFELab. He gained an Executive MBA from Henley Management College in 2010 and an MSc in biotechnology from the University of the Free State/Universiteit van die Vrystaat in Bloemfontein, South Africa.
