BASIS is committed to the pest control industry

Rumours that BASIS is pulling out of the PROMPT professional register for the pest management industry are completely untrue.

BASIS managing director Rob Simpson told Pest that BASIS remains fully committed to PROMPT.

He continued, “As highlighted in the article in the current issue of Pest magazine we know from experience in other sectors that CPD (Continuing Professional Development) schemes such as PROMPT always benefit true professionals and their customers.”

Joining PROMPT is a great way of proving to customers and potential employers that you are at the top of your profession.

Over the last few years a good workable scheme has been developed. There are now plenty of opportunities to collect the CPD points that PROMPT members need to show they have kept up-to-date and there is no need to spend a fortune. For example, reading Pest magazine and taking part in our new Pest test both earn points for free. Click here to learn how.

However Rob is also quick to point out that there are still far too few pest professionals on the PROMPT register.

“We are keen to see the numbers on the register increase. Too few people in pest control have realised the benefits of demonstrating their competence and professionalism through PROMPT,” he says.

“What needs to happen now is for the whole industry to get behind the scheme rather than leaving it to just a few leading pest management businesses.”

there is no truth in the rumour
that BASIS is pulling out of PROMPT. “We continue to believe that professional  development through PROMPT is the best way for pest management professionals to demonstrate their expertise.”
