Pest magazine is pleased to announce two great ways of earning BASIS PROMPT CPD points.

Based on Pest magazine’s technical content BASIS, the independent standard setting organisation that administers PROMPT, will award two CPD points to anyone who reads all six issues in the year.

“However if you really want to boost your points collection then our innovative new Pest test is the place to start,” says Pest editor Frances McKim. “It’s a series of topical technical articles and the firstPest testarticle has just been published in Issue 3.”

“To earn the CPD points all you have to do is read the technical article- it’s on EFKs in the current issue – and then provide correct answers to all the questions printed at the end of the feature,” she explains.

Joining PROMPT is a great way of proving to customers and potential employers that you are at the top of your profession. If you have not yet been accepted onto PROMPT you can find out more about the scheme on the BASIS website where you can also download an application form.

Meanwhile, look out for Issue 4 ofPestwhere we will be featuring a comprehensive review of the state of training in the UK pest control industry and, by and large, it”s a healthy picture.

As our expert author writes, “Although there is no statutory demand for certification, the BPCA/RSH Level 2 Certificate in Pest Control is universally recognised as the qualification to aim for… how many other industries offer such widespread support from companies large and small, to a qualification which is not mandatory?”
